How it all began
As for many other cancer patients, the heavy therapies took their toll on Lies’ skin.
While sick, Lies struggled with finding the right skincare for a skin that’s in active treatment. In her quest for comfort and skincare during a challenging time, she embarked on a mission to develop a range of skincare products specially tailored to the unique needs of oncology patients.
“Just because skincare products are described as natural or sustainable does not mean they are automatically good for everyone. Products for oncology patients, for example, have to be perfume-free, without parabens, dermatologically tested, … You quickly end up in a range of boring and scientific brands.
With Moksi, I want to bring a little more spice and liveliness and make the path of those who are ill easier and more pleasant.”

Why we do what we do
No one wants to be in the target audience for this brand and most of us don’t expect to. But when that moment comes, one thing is certain, emotions will run high both for the patient and their supporters. However, after this first wave of emotion, the time for sadness will be replaced with the time for getting on with it. As patients, we are forced to move into the practicalities of our treatment.
This will be a period of time characterised by loss of bodily autonomy, but MOKSI provides patients with a way to retain control over their skincare choices.
Cancer treatments are devastating and transformative for the skin. Itching, redness, scaling, loss of elasticity, … These are just some of the discomforts that suddenly appear on this journey. That’s why we offer both stylish and safe skin care products.
What makes Moksi special?
It’s a brand made by, made for, oncology patients. As a result of treatment, skin cells, fibroblasts and stem stells can suffer significant damage, resulting in dry, flaky, itchy or inflamed skin with a weakened barrier and loss of elasticity. Moksi products contain the necessary moisturising building blocks to restore naturally occurring skin lipids.
